Islesboro Islands Trust

Islesboro Islands Trust is a non-profit land trust serving the community of Islesboro. Founded in 1985, IIT works to enhance the quality of island life through the preservation of open space, education as to the value of the islands’ natural ecosystems, and advocacy on behalf of Islesboro and the surrounding Penobscot Bay region.

Alice L. Pendleton Library

Since 1918, the Alice L. Pendleton Library has served island residents, offering books, programs, performances, and speakers. The library is home to an extensive collection of island history, much of it digitized and available online. The library also has videos of several wonderful talks available under the heading “Islesboro Interests” on the libary's YouTube Channel.

Maine Memory Network

Developed and managed by the Maine Historical Society, the Maine Memory Network is Maine’s statewide digital museum, archive, and educational resource. It hosts photographs, documents, sketches, drawings, and audio and video files from historical societies, libraries, museums, and individuals across the state, including Islesboro Historical Society.
